The Twins are HERE!!! :)

I haven't been able to update - omg who has time? But I wanted to post that Brandon Lee and Katelyn Marie were born on February 11, 2009 at 9:10 and 9:12am. B weighed 6lb4oz and K weighed 5lb10oz! For 36-week twins, they were EXCELLENT weights!!

We're having some jaundice issues with Brandon (because he's so sleepy all the time that he doesn't want to wake up to eat!!) but we're getting them resolved as best that we can!

Part of me wishes that they would've been born a couple of weeks later, just to avoid all the jaundice and heel sticks and all the stuff they went through the week they were born, but in the end that doesn't matter. My little angels are wonderful and I am so in love. :)

11 more days!!!

We have our c-section scheduled!!! Our twins will be here on Wednesday, February 11th 2009! I am SO excited to meet these little babies who have been kicking me for months.. its going to be such a wonderful day. :) I am going to be so happy to see them and cuddle them and fall completely in love with them.. but one part of me will be so sad, because now I'll have to share them with the world. And its ok. :)

I never thought I'd say this in ten million years but I'm going to miss being pregnant, just a little bit. I guess knowing that I'M the only one in the world that can take care of them while they're growing inside me makes me feel more awesome than I ever could have imagined. ;)

I just can't wait to be a Mommy. :)

Ahh!! The pain!

I know that most women complain about end-of-pregnancy pains, but holy cow!! I feel like someone's trying to split my pelvic bone in half with a crowbar!! This is insane. :)

The babies are moving so much lately! Its like they're getting restless and they know they only have "about" 3 weeks to stay in there!

I have to go to the hospital every week for BPP's (Its an ultrasound that checks to make sure they're moving, and practicing their breathing!) and at the check I went to on Thursday... Brandon moved butt-first! That little trouble-maker! ;) So he's just not going to stay put. *hehe* They are moving and "breathing" just fine. So I'm happy!

B and I went shopping this weekend, found a super-cute hamper for the nursery, got their diaper can, and a pack of bottles...put fresh batteries in the swings.. and we looked around and went "Gosh, there's nothing else we really need!"

So we are READY! We just need these little babies to bake a few more weeks, then we need Grandma J and Grandma P to come down, and they can come anytime after that!! I am SO excited to see my Mom and Mom-in-law :D Might get a bit confusing.. because when I need help and they're both there and I call out "Mom!" they'll both come running... hahaha! Its ok ;) I am so loved. <3

Appointment on 1/8!

We had another perinatologist appointment on 1/8! Brandon weighs 4lb1oz, and Katelyn weighs 3lb6oz. The best news of the appointment - Brandon has turned head-down!! I may get out of this c-section yet!

My regular OB, Dr. Miller, has said that after 35 weeks she won't stop my labor if I happen to go naturally, and that after 36 weeks, we'll plan an induction/c-section (depending on what Mr. Brandon decides to do... stubborn little man!).

We are getting SO very excited, we have our hospital bags packed, took a tour of the labor/delivery ward at the hospital, and have the diaper bag loaded up!! Knowing that our babies could possibly be here in as little as 2.5 weeks is so overwhelming and exciting! I can't WAIT!!

Another thing I can't wait for?! My Mom will be here, probably before the twins are born!!!! She's planning on being here the weekend of Feb 8th and I couldn't be more excited! Being pregnant so far away from your family, especially Mommy, is so hard.. so I am glad she'll be here for at least a little bit of my pregnancy (hopefully!) :)

I have another appointment with my regular OB on 1/22 and with the specialist on 1/29!

We're also getting our carseats installed tomorrow!! :) We sort of have one installed and sitting in my husband's car.. Katelyn's pink seat is sitting back there, and its just so cute to see a pink carseat sitting in the back of his car. :) It makes my heart just melt a little. I can't wait to see her spunky little butt sitting IN the seat though!!!!

I'll update as more happens!!

Update - another appointment on 12/4!

We visited with the Perinatologist again on 12/4 and had a growth scan done! Baby A (our little boy) has caught up! He weighed (at that point) 2 lbs 4 oz and they guessed he was about 14-15 inches long. He's all scrunched up at the bottom of my uterus... so he can't really move all that well! Baby B, our little girl, is 2 lbs 2oz, and is about the same length. She's moved from being horizontal at the top of my uterus to kind of being diagonal along my right side. They're thinking she's trying to help Mommy out and try to move more vertical so I can deliver easier... but little Mister doesn't seem too motivated to get out of the way. Its ok.. at least she's stepping on him to make up for it. *hehe* :)

They (the doctors) are telling me they think I'll deliver around 35 or 36 weeks. That's only 8 or 9 weeks away!!!!!! We are getting so excited, and just can't wait to meet these little acrobats. They are moving so so SO much now, and its hilarious to lie down at night and watch them just "jump" around. :) They are responding to sounds, and for some reason whenever I happen to have a kitty lay on my tummy, they don't like it all too much, and kick until she gets frustrated and jumps off. *laughs* They're already spunky.. just like their Mama. :)

I also visited my regular OB that same day and had some bloodwork done. They tested the averages of my last 3 months worth of blood sugar - and everything is fine!! They also tested my iron, and I'm just slightly anemic. With twins, its no wonder!!

Last night my Mom showed me pictures of the bedding she is making for them -- it is SO much more beautiful than I could have ever imagined, and I am so excited to see it all put together in their room. :) Mom is so talented, I wonder why I didn't get the creative gene... lol!

I have another peri appointment on 1/8 and a regular OB appointment on 12/18. If there's more to update, I'll be sure and do so then!!!

Haven't updated in a bit!

Sorry I haven't been on to update in a while.. with holidays and such coming up we've been really busy!

Lets see - I went to the Perinatologist on 11/6 and everything looked great!! He said at that appointment the twins were about 11 inches long and weighed just over 1 lb each!! They both are very active (which I can really feel and see now!), and they are both healthy as can be. I'm still convinced, though.. that they'll come out with black eyes. They beat each other up so much! :)

My last OB appointment was interesting -- my doctor and I talked about when we think I'll actually be delivering. She says she's really pulling for me to make it to Valentine's Day, in which case we'll schedule an induction. She also is having me go in for 2 rounds of injections of Betamethasone, which is a steroid that helps with the babies' lung development.

She advised me that the medication will stay in my system for 10-12 weeks. When I asked her if I would need another round of medication after that, she said: "No, I really think you'll deliver by then." Talk about eye-opening!!!! Knowing my little angels will be here in that short amount of time is really exciting, and completely terrifying to me. Mostly exciting though - haha!!

I am apparently being watched for Toxemia, because I'm putting out protein when I shouldn't be ... so my doctor is watching me pretty closely. I go in next Thursday 12/4 so I'll be sure and update then. I may get put on modified bedrest... we shall see.

Until then, Happy Thanksgiving and much love!! *hugs*
